A client asked me if he could install Win 10 on his small travel laptop Intel Atom N57 2 gigs ram 32 bit the only good thing is it has an SSD
I told him what's the difference you have a start menu and icons
He currently has Win 7 starter
I am sure this will not work Windows 10 Mobile I think it's mainly for tablets.
I know it can't be done and should not be done, just checking, it would be horrible he bought the laptop from me so I feel a bit obliged to at least try.

Yes you could install Windows 10 Home 32-bit, the Windows 7 Starter license is valid for the free upgrade. 2GB RAM is not recommended but it would work, maybe just as fast as Win 7 Starter.
the only good thing is it has an SSD
Are you sure it's an SSD? If it's 64GB or less then it will be eMMC, which is a memory card soldered onto the main board and similar speeds to a 5400rpm HDD.

I put the SSD in
it's not fast now with win 7 starter I will clone first then give it a try
I will see if I can upgrade memory to 4 gig

"Official minimum" recommendations for Windows 10 32/64 bit are 1GHZ, processor, 1GB Ram, 30GB HDD space.
So in theory it should run. In practise might be a different story.
For testing purposes, I have personally installed Win 10 on an old tower with above specs. (Sempron 1GHZ, 1GB ram, 40GB HDD).
It ran fine until I opened a few windows. It slowed but not to the point of being unusable.
I think the biggest bottleneck was the old 40GB Samsung HDD. My .02

I installed Win 10 and to my surprise, it runs not to bad all he uses it for is internet radio
Somebody mentioned 7 Starter license is valid for the free upgrade I thought that ended over a year ago the free upgrade.

Officially the free upgrade offer ended 29th July 2016.

Unofficially, it continues to work and Microsoft are doing nothing to prevent it. It's to their benefit having more people on Windows 10.

The free upgrade never ended. They have announced that the end of the upgrade is coming twice, but after those deadlines they haven't announced that the free upgrade is over. They still activate new upgrades.

Just activate with the Windows 7 product key if you want to leave 10 on it.

I have said it before and I will say it again... It amazes me how many tech's and end users (reading other forums) that you can still upgrade /activate Win 10 with a valid Win 7/8 key.

Same here. I've been doing almost every day for the last couple of years, I wonder how other techs operate without that knowledge.

Installing Windows 10 on refurbs and used computers for resale, installing Windows 10 after failed hard drives when the customer still had Windows 8, customers coming to me wanting to buy an upgrade for their OS and me just charging for labour, in-place upgrades to Windows 10 to fix Windows 8 update problems, selling upgrades to SSD and customers deciding what-the-hell might as well upgrade to Windows 10, etc...

What you're getting though is not really Win10 Mobile - that's the technically-defunct Windows Phone OS running on ARM.

Win10S is the "Only things from the App Store" stripped down version, but I think it's mostly Home and Pro that we're likely to see.
