White Background

XP MCE HP laptop: starts up fine at first, but after a couple minutes the background turns Wwhite. I only got a quick look at, and will see it again on Monday, so I don't have many details right now. But does this sound familiar to anyone?

Edit: weekend tech recovered it so now I'll never know, thanks anyway

Possible active desktop crash? Don't see that often on XP but sometimes if client has customized desktop it pops up
