I am planning on installing some spyware removal software on clients computers if they dont already have some. So i was wondering which would be better SpyBot search and destroy or anti-Malware??? I have used both and they are both good but cant decide which one i would not like to put both on.
Or if someone can suggest another program please tell me.

Thanks

SUPERantispyware is solid, but if I remember the free version starts up on startup, but doesn't actually do anything (to get auto updates and scans and such you need the premium version), so it may be worth disabling it so it doesn't impact on speed.

i would just like to install a free spyware removal program on any computer that does not have one just to help keep the clients computer clean

I know if i put it on their computer it might lower my business with that client a bit, but it might increase my business via clients telling other people how i helped protect their computer from other threats. Theres a few articles about this on this website.

ssad gets no love its a great tool lil plane tho from a customers eye and hard to use, got with mbam its stupid easy and pretty.

But with all 3 that's been said none of them are automatic you prompt each one.

I'm fully aware of "going the extra mile" for customers that will likely yield referrals to new clients instead of waiting for your current customer to break it again and come back for however long that takes.

If a client didn't have any anti-malware or anti-virus software, I'd highly recommend them finding some quickly and could give a few suggestions. I wouldn't cram it down their throats, or install/support/educate on unless I'm getting paid to do so. There's Defender and MS Security Essentials for free for genuine Windows XP/Vista/Win7, and I'm sure I'd be available for any additional con$ultation.

Of course i would make them aware of the programs on offer and tell them about the ones that would be suitable for their computer and if they don't want it one their computer i wouldn't put it on

I don't install anti-malware software on customers machines unless specifically
asked to.

I use MBAM, Superantispyware, and Emsisoft Anti-Malware to scan customers
machines.

I use Malware Bytes, and Microsoft essentials.
Ask the customer if they would like protection installed, never assume they have no problem with what you would install.

Good combo i am familiar with both and of course i would always check with them. If i got my computer repaired and it came back with 5 new programs i dont need or didnt know about i would be angry with the person who repaired my computer. So i always ask my customers about those sort of things. Thanks for the information.

If I got my car back from the mechanic and he'd installed airbags for the passenger and those in the backseat, had equipped my engine with a fire-retardant and added shoulder seatbelts where there'd only been lap belts before, plus he'd detailed it by cleaning all the dust, etc., and at no extra cost, I'd be pretty pleased with the service.

It's called 'Value Added Service'. If they don't know they need it but we do, and we explain to them why they need it, they will come to trust us more and they will continue to bring their business to us and that of their friends, family, and acquaintances.

+1. I find that the majority of my clients, do not have any anti malware installed on their computers. After explaining the benefits of having it installed, they thank me for doing so, and refer me to others. BUT even after showing them how to update and run the program, together with a walk through on how to do everything, I also find that at least half of them do not, either update nor run it. So bring it into me, for a health check, then find its infected with x,y,z, and get landed with a invoice for malware removal. (And I dont mean tracking cookies either), these are serious threats..

BINGO, Cadishead! We gain their confidence for equipping them but their tendency towards apathy still prevents them from maintaining their systems correctly and we still get their business the next time.
I even offer a service where I will connect remotely (at their invitation), a few months later, and check all their updates, run their scans, etc. They all talk about it being a great idea but, because "everything seems fine", rarely take me up on it.
