Gunslinger,

Could you please show us what you have in the rest of your folders?

P.S. What program do you use to show screen shots?

Thanks,
Czarman

I may post more shots later or a list. Take in mind this is only one of 4 "mobile kits" I have and they have different programs. Pretty much I can fix any software problem with 3-4 CDs and my mobile kit. The kit in the screen shots has 130 programs on it, just in the portables menue, there are another 85 or so that must be installed, plus I keep lots of documents as well.

Lets say I find a new problem I have not seen before and I have to google the answer. I'll save that info to a word doc or portable evernote so if I run into it again and forget how to fix it the info is right there and so are the tools to fix it.

As for the program I used for the screen shots. All I did was press the print screen button on my keyboard, open up a graphics program (Microsoft Digital Imaging suite) and paste the image then crop.

I do the same.

I have an Excel file with notes on problems and fixes. I don't reference it too often but when I do, I'm glad that I have it.

You can also use simple Microsoft Paint but with that you get the whole image.

Thats one of the first programs I remove from a fresh install, It leaves about as fast as the games and WMP.

As for where to get the programs, I made some of them using a program called thinstall. Some of the others can be found in the computer repair utility kit found on this site. ( Bryce got the idea from me, your welcome ) Still others can be found here: http://portableapps.com/apps

Thinstall

Gunslinger,

You mentioned the program Thinstall to convert progs to portable USB flash drive apps. Is there an older, freeware version of Thinstall? At least since VMWare acquired them, the only version I can find costs thousands (unless I'm missing something).

Thanks!

You are right , I just checked it out and those prices are insane. I'm not aware of a free program that does the same thing.

There is a small collection of programs that can be made to do the same as thinstall, or thinapp, But I'll have to look up what they are.
