Ive never really had to do much advertising as I only did it part time after work and word of mouth did the trick but now I am going to be doing this full time. So I wanted to get some feedback before I get them printed and sent out.

Hi there, overall I love the flyer. Although I have one small issue.

On your voucher, where you say 50% off on the first repair. Does that include everything?

What I mean is, say a customer has a virus, then yeah fine, 50% off, great deal, win win.

But, that same customer wants a hard drive replacement, and their mobo is knackered.

In this case, I can see a major loss for you, if your having to give up 50% of your invoice. Win LOSE

What I would be inclined to do, is stipulate, something like terms and conditions apply.

And in those terms, say this offer is only valid on labour. Any and all parts are an added extra.

I don't want to criticize too much but I feel that the leaflet is bottom heavy. Your twitter and facebook banner overwhelms the page. My attention just keeps being drawn to that and not what your trying to advertise.

Thanks for the the suggestions, I think I am going to just have the top part of my flyer.

I think you need to watch your margins. When you put text in boxes you need some space around them. The bottom right corner needs a bit more space around the text.

It looks like you put alot of time into it. I like it alot and would use it myself.

How much space should I have as a rule of thumb? Should I make everything bigger and leave the text the same size?

I like it, I have been wanting to make a flyer aswell, but designers and printers charge an arm and a leg ,may I asked what program you used, Its very Pro.

I made a flyer with Publisher but looked a bit basic,

OP - I hope you dont mind me throwing my oar in :)

For that sort of work Inkscape is the best free option I know of. However CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator and Xara Designer Pro 6 are all excellent options. Xara is the best bang-for-buck option.

Inkscape is capable, but it is a bit crashy and can also run extremely slow as in (painfully, agonisingly, slow) on some tasks. (I ran it on a 965BE with 4gb ddr3 and in some instances it almost ground to a halt)

As far as printing goes, the best value colour flier option I have seen is using postcards from VistaPrint. Much cheaper than trifolds and its cardboard so fairly durable. Glossy finish, etc. Double-sided only costs a few bucks more and looks very appealing. I got a thousand double-sided made up a few months ago for about $100USD

Overall I like it, but I have a few niggles. I don't like the twitter part because it is very pixelated on my laptop at full screen and I imagine it would look bad on a print-out (but that depends how big you plan to print it). I like the 'Option 1' and 'Option 2' sections, which reminded me of the podnutz tech site builder, but around where it has the 'Option' bit there's colour that doesn't match the background, which I think looks like a copy and paste job (not that you can't copy and paste, but to me it looks tacky):

My other niggle is that you seem to like using that dark green (#15A91A), which isn't a bad thing, but maybe see how it looks with a bit of variation?

awesome flyer. Do you plan on using it as a hand out or mailer? or something you post on bulletin boards? If its going to be on Bulletin boards, i'd remove the Facebook portion and replace it with pull tabs with your web address and number.

Aside from the flyer, how does the $99 flat repair fee work out for you? Getting more customers than just the hourly rate?

I did it with Adobe illustrator, if you are interested I can post or email you the original files.

I have decided to remove the twitter part all together and to something like monthly business tip or home tip, I agree that the picture is grainy I was just trying to put something there so that I could fill the bottom half.

When I did this flyer I was inspired by the podnutz website builder as it had some really good key points.

As for the option part I did copy and past it but it should not be showing a difference in grey as I did not copy the background part.

I plan on taking it to a printing press and doing full color and then having it mailed via postal service.

The $99 flat rate works well for format and reinstall as well as viruses as I can do more at the same time, most people still go for the hourly rate as they can get me to fix more than one computer while I'm onsite.
