What are you rolling with in 2018?

Home:
Custom Build
NZXT H440 Black/Corsair HW750i
i7-5820K 3.3ghz 6 core 12 thread/16GB DDR4/MSI X99A SLI Plus
eVGA GTX 970 FTW 4GB
Samsung 850 Evo 500GB 2.5" SSD / HGST 3TB 3.5" (not really even using)
Windows 7 Pro
2x Acer 23.6" monitors (had since 2012)

Work:
"Main" Machine - Built in mid 2014 - (Replaced Core 2 Quad)
Fractal Design ARC XL/FSP 750W (traded a C2Q with mobo and some ram for the case in 2013? I think)
2x Xeon E5530 @ 2.4ghz 4c/8t each / Supermicro X8DT3 (ebay)
32GB DDR3 RDIMM ECC (ebay)
HD5450 (salvaged)
3x120GB SSD RAID5 (1 from my old laptop, 2 salvaged from machines)
3TB for storage (salvaged from a machine)
2 port USB 3.0 card (came with a motherboard, installed in maybe 2015? first computer with 3.0)
Win 10 Pro
2x Acer 19" 1280x1024 monitors

"Daily Driver" - Built in 2016 I think - replaced Core 2 Quad
Antec 900 (was a generic case but salvaged the 900 recently
Generic 450w PSU (salvaged)
Intel Core i5-2400 / 16GB ddr3 / Intel DB75EN (salvaged, installed this mobo in 2017 had another 1155 before)
Geforce 8400GS (salvaged, using with onboard intel hd for 3 monitors total)
Corsair 240GB SSD (recently salvaged) / 500GB WD Blue (old drive, also salvaged)
Win 10 Pro
2x Acer 19" 1440x900, 17" Dell 1280x1024 (strictly for viewing cameras)

Laptop
Thinkpad T460 14" (Bought on ebay May 2017 - 3 year warranty started 1/20/17!)
i5-6300u/12gb (came with 8)/256gb SSD/1080p/Win 10 Pro

Got pretty lucky with the Thinkpad. It was listed as a T440 but the specs, pics, and serial matched a T460. Only ~$430 buy it now. If only that would happen all the time.

Pretty much all I have at work has been salvaged except for the parts I bought on ebay.

RAM: 16 GB Kingston Ram
HDD: 2TB WD "Red" HDD

Ram: 16GB of "who the f**K knows" ram
HDD: 1 TB "Have no idea" HDD

Runs like a racehorse!

Work: 2
Ancient ASUS laptop with no screen or keyboard. Runs headless and I just remote to it.
500GB HDD
3 GB Ram
Multiboot Windows 7 Home, Fedora 25 and Debian 8
I also have a 1TB HDD permanently plugged in that I can boot to various Linux OS's and PE environments as needed.
used for cloning/backups/testing/malware removal/whatever I need.

Work: 3
2010 iMac that I got for free. I use it for "learning about Mac."
i5, 12 GB Ram, 1 TB HDD, High Sierra
Runs VirtualBox with Windows 7 Home because my business software only runs on Windows. (Well, the version I have anyway.)
Can't be bothered fooling with Cedega, or Wine to run it on Linux!

Other:
I have a couple of other computers that just sit there doing nothing other than use electricity. I should get rid of them?
I have various Android Tablets.
Samsung S6 Mobile
No iPads
And most importantly - NO WINDOWS 10!
I have to work on it, so I would rather stick toothpicks under my fingernails than use it myself!

That's about it for computers that I actually personally own and use. Not counting my large collection of functioning vintage computers from 1987 to 2005 including Mac SE/30's, original Dell Optiplex Pentium 100Mhz systems, Packard Bell 33Mhz systems, and my favorite, a 2005 Compaq that I bought brand new from Costco in 2006. I've souped it up and it makes quite a good little vintage gaming machine. Not to mention the nostalgia. I haven't used that computer for anything that matters for about 10 or 11 years.

My little workhorse.
CPU:
AMD A10-7890K 4000.0 MHz
MOBO: A88XI AC V2 (MS-7913)
GPU: AMD Radeon R7 Graphics
RAM: 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3

This little guy never slows down, I have no need for anything more snazzy.

I used to always have high end gaming PC I built ...for home...but I stopped gaming a few years ago. Actually just tossed it to the scrap pile a month ago at work, when we made a metal recycle dump run with tons of other carcasses. (I just pulled the graphics card).

Anyways...I'm down to 2x computers. At HQ...I have my HP Elite 8000 small form factor desktop, with a Quaddro graphics card driving these 4x monitors. i5, 16 gigs of RAM, currently a WE SE (enterprise) HDD. One of these days I'll clone to SSD...but the rig stays running 24x7 so no big rush for SSD.

And in front of it is my portable...relatively new Lenovo Carbon X1, i7 5th gen, 512 SSD, 8 gigs. LOVE IT!

I'm starting to think that there are two ways of winning this contest...
Geez, don't feel bad! All my stuff is old and very used.
I look at all these sooperdooper units and think "I'm doing it wrong?"
Most of my stuff is free or traded in from clients.
The 27" iMac, free
the Asus N71JQ Laptop, free
The old broken headless ASUS lappy, free
The ASUS ROG 27" monitor, free
The LG 24" second panel on the ASUS N71JQ, free
The 2 i5's with 8GB ram 24" Toshiba panels and 1 TB hdd's sitting in the corner doing nothing but wasting electricity, free from a business client.
Android Tablets traded for a S/H desktop computer
S6 Mobile Phone free from young lady across the road who hated it and bought an iPhone.
People just like to give me stuff!

Wow! So many new toys. I guess I go the opposite -

Heh - I use little old HP 2530p laptops on the road and in my backpack. I have bumped them up with SSD and USB 3 but they're just Core 2 Duos. They're small, light and almost disposable as I tend to be hard on stuff on the road or leave things at a project. They have all the hardware of (network, DVD, ports, etc.) of a bigger laptop but easy to lug around. Performance with an SSD is surprisingly good. I'm so over bigger is better when it's on my back........

199487-hp-elitebook-2530p.jpg

....as @Barcelona stated, my shop is all old stuff that has proven itself rock stable. I need known and proven hardware on my benches.

Well I have an excuse! I'm only 23 and been in the game for 3 years! I bet the majority of yall were doing this while I was still in Elementary school!

+my nicest computer was 80% donations... bought a 1060 6GB (before the prices pooped) and the vive off ebay for $400... I usually spend around $400 - $600 on my personal desktops. I3 is good enough.

Though I may upgrade to an I5 so I can do 1080p encoding for livestreams.... Just another $200 more... :D

My general/gaming PC is getting a little long in the tooth. I should have upgraded before the mining craze hit.

i5-3570k
AMD R9 290x (that is artifacting in games before the fan spins up to max rpm, and its a really unhealthy sounding fan)
12gb DDR3 GSkill (it was 16gb but a Zalman PSU failure blew one module up leaving me with 3x 4gb)
500gb Sandisk SSD (I know)
1x 1.5TB HDD
1x 3TB HDD
Some Gigabyte MB

I also have a Lenovo X1 Carbon 3rd Gen with an i7, 16gb RAM, 1440p touchscreen.
