i was thinking to buy some tools that tech dont use often in front of the customers
like IR Thermometer or laser Thermometer , and those things to check the voltage of the PSU.

do you have some ideas? what would you use?

I would find it extremely awkward and nerdy hooking up an anti-static wrist guard on-site. With that being said, I don't usually do hardware upgrades on-site anyways unless replacing a faulty modem or nic and probably would just ground myself with the case =|

The power supply tester you can get for like 5 bucks on eBay... I got one and think Ive only used it once, and that was on a PSU that was faulty just to test it lol

Try one of THESE then you can say "yes sir, it's your dilithium co-processor needing a recharge." :)

You know I have always wanted one of those tri-corders. But every time I went to a star trek convention they are so very expensive. But what would a client really think if you took one of those out to fix a computer?? lol..

Has anyone said "skill and confidence" yet? If you know what you're doing, you don't really need a machine that goes 'bing'.

Now pardon me while I play with my new Android tablet.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with what most of everyone is saying about having confidence and all. However no harm in a small joke, that's if you know client or better yet just do it to your friends and family instead .lol.

Besides that star trek app is cool.

thank you so much everybody for the replies.
i know having confidence and knowing what you are doing it is very important.
but i ll give you a little info about me.
i have my small company and i wear jean and a polo shirt with my logo company so it will look better. and i have my kit of cds and a swiss knife army cybertool ( the best thing to have all tool in one little device) and i have my flash light of course too. But let say that the customer have seen many tech ppl , but who is going to choose? the one with more tool and they one that seem more prepared. So if you have more suggestion that will be great.
