As the title says I finally upgraded my "Home Entertainment" PC. Kept some parts as no need to update them as yet. I have another small Acer Veriton on my desk for work related purposes. Upgraded to 8GB RAM. 250GB SSD & i52500K.

NEW PC -
  • Samsung 860 QVO 1TB 2.5" SATA SSD - MZ-76Q1T0BW
  • Gigabyte B365 M AORUS ELITE mATX Motherboard
  • Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB (8GBx2) 2666MHz DDR4 Desktop RAM
  • Intel Core i7-9700F 3.00 GHz 9th Gen CPU

Parts I had still had -

  • TX 650 PSU
  • x2 Spinner Drives
  • GEFORCE 960 GFX Card
  • Kingston HyperX Cloud Stinger Gaming Audio Headset
  • Deepcool MATREXX 50 mATX Case

I don't really need another GPU, One I have runs everything on Ultra. I have zero interest in RTX bollocks, as just halves FPS. So you end up turning it off anyway. If I was to upgrade would be a GeForce GTX 1660. So just saving for a larger monitor atm, no rush.

I just bought 6 x ASUS VC279 27" White Monitors for a client. They are very nice and were a great price.
PM me if you want the seller. :);)

There's nothing wrong with older hardware. I still have 2x main computers in use with 4th gen i7's and have no plans to replace them anytime soon. Still, for reliability sake depending on the number of hours on it, I would probably consider replacing a 2nd gen PC. Depends whether or not it's a critical system used for business or if it's my main leisure computer. I consider my main leisure computer to be 100% as critical as my business computers because without it nothing works and I'd be staring at a blank TV. Not to mention that I don't get leisure time often so when I take time to watch a movie or play a game, I want it to work 100% of the time.

Congrats on the upgrade! Hopefully it will last you another 7-8 years.

Thanks Sapphire, yea when I get downtime I like to casually game and do some 3D modelling stuff. Don't do much online as just get annoyed by 10 year olds. Have been playing "The Outer Worlds" of late, reminds me of Fallout.

Hey @Barcelona - those look great going to get one! :) not going to get white, cause Black Monitor's Matter:confused:
