I know nothing about making a web site, I went to go daddy and I see it is 11.99 for domain name, then there are hosting costs and email costs, and a quote from there fine print (At the end of the initial term, these products will automatically renew at the then-current rate) I'm so confused I just wanted a simple 3-5 page information site with one email. and just would like to know the cost up front. I don't want to sign up for something thinking it will cost me 11.99 a year and find out it will cost me 100 or more a month? is go daddy the best place to go, or can you tell me what the average cost you pay monthly or yearly?

Prices are in AUD from where Im reading it, but thats pretty close to USD

5 bucks a month with 100 email accounts and 10 SQL databases

If you register for 2-3 years the prices go down to as little as $3pm

Its cheap.

So you pay for domain name, then hosting, then whatever hosting addons you want.

Thats pretty much all there is to it. Dont know where you're getting $100pm from?

I went through the checkout and there's a field there for a promo code. If you can locate one via google, you could probably drop the price even further.

Did you check out Dreamhost and Hostgator?

Check Around

GoDaddy might have the most TV advertising, but they don't have the best deals.

BlueHost is good, and personally I use justhost.com... unlimited eMail, data, and SQL's, AND I got a single domain registered for free! Their tech support has been very acceptable as well.
