virtualbox help

Hi, I'm hoping someone out there has experience with virtualbox. I used acronis to recover a vista image from a screwed up laptop to my vb usb drive, but now ofcourse I get a boot error, cannot read, etc. So I restarted my vb machine put my vista cd in and tried to do a recovery, the cd does not see the vb windows partition, I have to option to load the drivers, but don't know where or which. I tried the vista startup repair too, no go. I've been googling but not having much luck.
