I got a Acer Aspire C22-720 all in one PC come in where the customer has forgot their Windows 10 password so am trying to boot software I have on a USB to remove/reset it but for some reason it's not booting from the USB. I selected Legacy in the BIOS and see USB in the boot menu as Generic Flash UDISK but it's just flashing the white line on the screen after selecting it and not loading the software

Any ideas what to try?

I am trying the DVD and it's not booting from it. I can't see it in the boot menu. It says to use the software with UEFI support but all I see in the boot menu is the windows 10 and realtek option but no cd/dvd option

I am trying to enable CSM as I have disabled secure boot and changed it from UEFI to Legacy but the CSM says compatibility support module is not loaded due to active uefi secure boot mode

How can I solve this issue so I can have CSM enabled as I think that is why I can't boot from USB or DVD

UPDATE, I have got CSM enabled now and in the boot menu I got generic storage showing which I am guessing is the USB DVD drive so selected it but it's not doing anything and nothing is displayed on the screen

Has anyone any ideas as I am out of them. It won't boot from the DVD drive and put a Windows 10 1803 USB stick in and it recognised the name of it in the boot menu so selected it and does not do anything

How did you create the bootable USB? What software is it? I use PCUnlocker, as Porthos mentions - one can only reset a local account.

... I can only get the DVD drive recognised if I change it so Legacy instead of UEFI and I then have to disable secure boot, fastboot and enable CSM
Is the DVD drive now bootable? That's okay – you should be able to boot the PCUnlocker disc and do what's necessary. When you've removed/disabled the password, set the BIOS back to what it was.

Generally for Acer, the boot menu is on F12, but it is disabled by default – enable it in the BIOS. (You may have to do one full restart before F12 works.) Do a full shutdown from the Windows login screen (Shift-Shutdown). Press and hold F12, press power on. You should see two sections in the boot menu if Legacy/CSM booting is enabled, showing UEFI and Legacy boot devices, as detected. Prospective boot devices must be attached at power on.

Check also if a BIOS update is available. These Acer AIOs have a certain reputation for inflexible booting.

I am selecting the dvd drive from the boot menu after pressing F12 and the drive is working and hear the disc spinning but then nothing happens. I think it has beaten me this one as the customer needs to pick it up in 20 mins to try and do some work on it so have not got time to do any BIOS update

Enable the Administrator account using WinPE from the recovery partition as an emergency get-you-going measure? Get the machine back in when you'll have time to do it properly, either by getting the boot options working or following @wavey's suggestion if you don't mind opening it up.
