Update your hardware, you know, once every 10 years or so whether it needs it or not

We were setting up a Lenovo Tiny at the end of December as a standalone, headless workstation for a customer. Unusually, we got no video at all on either the HDMI or either of the DP ports. Tried 2 different monitors and two different video cables, so we just chalked it up as a DOA and processed an RMA through our distributor. We got the replacement in this past weekend and incredibly, had the same symptoms with the new one.

Ok, this is weird. Let's try one of their TIO monitors we had in for another customer - worked first time. Hmm. Turns out both of the bench monitors we were attempting to use for the setup are, well......old. Both are Dell 24" models from...October 2008 (!). Both had HDMI and DP outputs, but I guess their chipsets are just too ancient to work with a [at least Lenovo's] new computer. I guess they don't owe me any money, I probably got them both in 2012 from a hardware refresh at a client. So the client got 4 years and I got 13 years use out of them - haha.
