I just wanted to post a thread and share my views on the UltimateTechSite product from 16k (Jim).

My apologies in advance if a thread like this doesn't belong here.

Anyway...$89.00. That is what it costs, and worth every damn penny.

I am a 150% noob when it comes to anything more complex than simple HTML. I knew I wanted a site that could be viewed easily on mobile devices like iPad, and iPhone, so I didn't want anything with flash at all. I looked around at a million templates, and none of them really struck a chord.

I read through a bunch of posts about Jim's package, and finally said "What the hell." It was only $89.00 after all. Let me tell you, Jim has everything described very well through his videos, and the pre-designed code for different pages was really helpful. I had a site up with plenty of Latin Words to be changed later, within a half hour of watching the first 4 videos.

Here is where it gets better, and Jim might not want this to be broadcast, so sorry Jim. Like I said above, I am a noob with anything web design related. Something in my brain shuts off, and I become a drooling, cross-eyed, pile of idiocy within hours. So, of course I got stuck on a few things. I thought I had read and watched the videos carefully, but it wasn't clicking. So I decide to email Jim. Now, I am on the East Coast (MA), and I am emailing him at all random times over a couple of days with moronic questions. He answered every single one of them (quickly), and even offered to hop on my site to do some tweaking if needed. Some of these emails were over the weekend, and he still answered. I'm pretty sure he doesn't sleep, or has managed to clone himself. $89.00 doesn't seem like a good deal on his end for the service he provides if you are like me, and need it.

Anyhow, thanks Jim. You have my gratitude and appreciation. My recommendation (for whatever that is worth), and my commitment to a renewal. You sir, are a gentleman, and great person to deal with. I look forward to any updates you make to your product.

I can add to this as well. I am in the beginning of setting up my website using this package and the videos thus far have been very easy to follow. He has also been very quick about replying, though I have only had one direct question for him. All I can say is keep up the good work and that I look forward to version 2.0 :)

I'm looking to create a new website and this has my interest with the feedback here. Does this come with some sort of CMS and is it easy to login and make changes or add pages?

it uses Wordpress: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WordPress

It's not just a Wordpress theme though by any means.

It's a complete kit with absolutely everything you need to get your computer repair business's web site up and running.

It use Wordpress, and to me wordpress seems to be pretty versatile, so you can use it for just about anything. The key to Jim's package is that he has it bundled with about 20 different videos (maybe more) that guide you step by step through the process of using features built into wordpress. He also packs it up with a custom theme, a bunch of images and other artwork to use in the pages, and he also has several pre-designed template pages which you can copy the code for, and then just add/delete the parts that you want to create a page with the attributes you want without trying to figure out any of the coding. I found that aspect to be particularly useful to have something set up and running right away. I'm sure there is a ton more you can do with wordpress than what I have done, but you can look at http://www.thisguywillfixit.com to get an idea of what I have done. I literally didn't make up anything myself as far as layout or design goes. I copied basically some portion of all of Jim's templates, and popped them together for myself. The basic layout (not including the time to make some artwork myself), took less than 10 hours. The little tweaking, and changing links/artwork, and trying to do some seo work will be ongoing, but I think that is the case regardless of what type of product you use.

Here is another nice feature. Jim sent me a mail with a link to a video critique of my site. He gave me personal feedback to make some changes to certain elements of my site. Now, I haven't got around to making those adjustments just yet, but I have his video that I can go back to, and watch it to make the needed changes. Everything he made reference to in the video he made for me are things to help with gaining customers, and making some pages more pleasing to look at. It was a big help to have someone who knows much more than me about web design give some tips and pointers, so I can make the changes accordingly.

Thanks for the reply. Jim PM'd me as well. I have purchased it and have started working on it. It will take me a few weeks or more to have something presentable, but I'm pretty excited about it. The last template I had came with a CMS system and is almost impossible to add pages too.
