UBCD4Win 3.6

Can it be re added?

Filler...........

From what I am picking up in the forums, it appears the people at MBAM "broke it" so it wont work under UBCD4win. Not sure if thats true but the UB guys got it going and then when they told the MBAM guys it changed and now wont work with UB. Its been talked about in several places so at this point I think its dead.

So are the MBAM guys trying to say that they don't want there program in ubcd4win. If that's the case its kind of like cutting there own hands off because I am not going to find a different boot cd to use just because one program does not work. I am just going to find another program.

Maybe we should all drop an email to MBAM about the problem and it will open there eyes to the fact that a lot of IT professionals want this option available.

I can somewhat understand MBAM's position on this. It's not really kosher to be using the free MBAM in our type of environment. However, I think their pricing for commercial versions is out of hand.

Malwarebytes' position has always been that their product is intended to be used in Windows normal mode, because of how it operates. When you get right down to it, you should really only be using MBAM as a final clean up tool, anyway. There's no great reason to have it on a PE disc.

I'm really kind of disappointed to see Kaspersky stop supporting BartPE. Their live CD is kind of a piece of junk compared to my old BartPE builds. I'm still trying to find a viable alternative.

I use their live CD a lot and find it very powerful even if it does take a while to scan, what is the difference between the BartPE builds?

The Kaspersky plugin used to give you basically a full running copy of their program, with every option available. I don't like their live CD as much because it means that I need to load yet another CD, it's slow, it leaves temporary files on the hard drive and I've had several systems that it won't find any drives.

For the Kaspersky issue, I never used the plugin. Just get the Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool and use that. Works great. When you run it it will want to do an install, let it do that, you will get one error which is ok, then its installed. You run it for several hours and your are done. :) Always worked for me. Go to this page for the program..
