I've been thinking about making a logo and here's what I have so far. Do you guys think this is a good direction? I haven't thought of a slogan yet but I wanted to throw myself to the wolves and see if I survive. Let me have it !

The general idea isn't too bad, but if you're going for a doctor theme I would use a medical cross, stethoscope, or even the head reflector thing.

Right now it LOOKS cool... but it's not really functional for a computer repair company. There's no computer themed stuff anyplace on it.

Another thing is the dark background with heart rate monitor on it won't show up very well on a dark background...

Couple things you might try...

- Toss more "medical" stuff onto it.
- I always try to base a "logo" onto a white background so that you can just replace the background with t-shirt colors, web backgrounds etc.
- I like the heart rate monitor idea, but you might try making it larger, make it run the length of the logo (Full left to right, keep it centered though) and maybe try red with it.
- Drop the ultra bolded text, again... t-shirts, web etc. will look pretty cluttered up with the really bold "compu".

Just a couple thoughts for ya, good starting point though.

Another thing to look at google for medical logos, or computer logos or even both... Also try www.48hrlogo.com, Go browse their in progress and/or completed projects to get a baseline idea from other logos. (Its all browsing click click click, its a pain but it's a great startpoint if you don't have money to spend on actual logo creation)

I agree with John... especially about using a white background. Also, check out 99designs.com. You can get some great ideas there by seeing what other logo designs people have submitted. Good luck!

I learned one thing early on - you want a logo that can be put on a lot of things. Look at some of the most memorable logos - Apple, Microsoft, etc. they are all very simple, and color isn't what makes them. Keep your logo simple, and I echo what everyone else has said - white background. You never know what you will need to put your logo on down the road, and, if it is complex, it either won't translate well or will be very expensive to brand on other items.

Thanks for all the ideas. I'm gonna try stablesolutions' suggestions and see how it goes. if it doesn't look any better I'll consider those sites. Prices seem reasonable.

Parkwaytech, I thought about that but still went ahead and tried something flashier then needs be. My wannabe artist side doesn't listen to my young business side, heh.

It looks cool but it may look to "dark"... But i do like the Tie.. it gives it the MIB effect. Lighter colors are more welcoming.

Got a friend to come up with some ideas before moving on, let me know what you think. (Personally they are the total opposite of what I had in mind, but I'm not good with marketing or designing so maybe these ARE better.)
