Hi folks.

So I'm constantly getting messages telling me that I'm running out of space on my C: Drive. For about a year, I've regularly had to go in to my programs and to the drive and uninstall/delete unimportant stuff as well as perform drive cleanup and optimisation.

I'm running a 250GB SSD. My OS is located there as well as my most important programs for uni and the likes. Some of said programs are quite chunky and require a lot of space for addons and presets. Essentially, over the 3-4 years since building the system, I've filled it up.

I'm looking to change my SSD to better handle the stuff I'm using on a regular(ish) basis by upgrading to a 500GB or 1TB drive.

How would I go about swapping out my SSD in the C: Drive for a larger capacity one? Is it possible to transfer everything in one go, while maintaining the computer's boot and read/write preferences and eliminating any need for the user interference? I had a few issues with the PC when built and then again a year or so ago and I simply can't be bothered with any form of transfer-based buffoonery on its part.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Since this is not for a business, I can say that using the free Home edition of Macrium Reflect will work just fine and can and does get done in one go. But know that any issues you have currently will also be transferred over to the larger drive. To use it, follow the below.

If you cant figure out how to expand the partition, watch the below.

But in all honesty, you may want to have an IT professional do it for you as not having the experience tends to wind up with issues.
