Toshiba Driver Page is the Worst

I give Toshiba the laptop's serial number and they give me a huge list of drivers, including ones that do not apply to this laptop. It's very frustrating to find the right drivers for the laptop. This is why I hate Toshiba.

Edit:

- Some of their drivers unzip and do not run, so I have to hunt down the Setup.exe in a Temp folder.

- They do not offer a tool to scan the system for missing/outdated drivers.

- They name their drivers with a useless sequence of letters and numbers.

This is why I use SDI, unless I have issues or need a Brand Specific Driver.

SDI = Snappy Driver Installer

Never heard of it before. I prefer getting driver directly from the source rather than using a 3rd party tool as it could download the wrong or older driver (I don't trust them).

LOL. Toshiba's driver page is confusing, but it works just fine. You can't blame them for not updating their layout. They stopped making computers years ago (or at least selling them in the US - I think they still sell them in Japan).

I agree 100% with your statement. Owning 2 upgraded Satellite laptops both with the Harman/Kardon speaker system. The driver and software package isn't even listed on the Toshiba site. Took 6 months to finally find a forum entry that stated use the Vista driver for windows 7 laptops for the Harmon/Kardon package. Nice support on Toshiba's part. You can see Toshiba in action if you go to the post office in the US. You stand there and wait for the receipt to print on their printers. I guess taking the Governments money is all they need in the US.
