I was wondering if anybody has dealt with thumbtack service listing. I received an e-mail asking to put my business listing on thumbtack for free, has anybody used the service, and if so any opinion’s if it is worth the time.

Im not even in the US but I saw a podcast where the founder was interviewed. Seems like a great thing and I guess it would be good for all you people here making fun at low-priced craiglist tech...

Basically thumbtack is what craiglist is not. On Thumbtack you have to identify yourself and they do background checks of criminal history and so on. In other words it is great for hiring a babysitter and probably a tech to :)

Looks like a pretty interesting service.

I was looking at one in my general area and noticed this in his profile.

What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
NEVER choose the cheap guy, they will ALWAYS scam you one way or another.

He charges 8-15 an hour. hahahahaha

That's great. Call him up and confront him.

My social media guy signed me up for this, so far in 2 days, got 2 leads to bid on the call. You have to pay a $4 fee for this and 8% on the call. Doesn't seem bad for a good referral, that could lead to other referrals.

He's having me wait to sign up though, still investigating the service.

I have gotten several emails from them as i am listed on thumbtack but the person who write the message will say that they want their computers fixed for 30 or 40 dollars. That's far to low for me

I just won a $150 repair for $2. when I got the notice, I was honest and told the lady that we can't figure out how much the repair would be until we did a diagnostic in our office. I won it with that. For $2, that's great ROI!!!

I have been on Thumbtack for some time now, it is a legit deal. I have certainly received some good clients from it, and in the event *something* happens Thumbtack has refunded my bid money immediately and satisfactorily.

I don't get a lot of business from it, but it certainly is worth it. Get yourself ranked and DOJ approved and all that.. it helps too.
