You're right, but those who don't even look at a return address are not checking the easiest red flag to check.

The fact that there's no Windows logo and that the "Mailbox address:" given at the bottom is not microsoft.com are two more.
 
I received an email from "Vodien," the legitimate domain registrar for my email, warning me about a recent scam. According to the message, scammers were sending emails that appeared virtually identical to legitimate communications from Vodien, attempting to deceive recipients.

Ironically, the warning itself turned out to be a scam!

After a careful examination, I traced the source of the fake Vodien email and confirmed it was fraudulent.
