The File Directory is Corrupted or Unreadable

cannot remove foldername: the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.. have you encountered this kind of situation where you can not delete a certain file because of this said message? do you have any recommendations on what to do and what to use? Thanks & God bless...

Sometimes it's because there is a file name that's too long or too deep a directory nesting.

Sometimes there is genuine corruption and a job for file assasin or linux.
 
Yup, in situations like this I try deleting it from linux, although I've had a couple of occasions where linux wouldn't work so I ran Chkdsk and that fixed the corruption.
