Text freaks

Fillers...for YeOlde
Was it a "new" relationship? Like in the first few weeks? Or perhaps the beginning of an extra-marital?
Frequency of texts or e-mails early on, can skyrocket off the charts like the Tower of Dubai.

Ok, So they started dating in mid June, that month there were 4000 texts. Consistently over the next 3 months, about 7800 or so. Honeymoon phase I guess, but what killed me was just seeing the logs and logs and logs. WOW, One of the people was at work, texting every 3 min? Who the F does that and what boss allows that? Damn.

So then, for the people here talking about texting with the kids in the same car/room, etc. I want to use the bad words here, but will refrain. I know I'm old, but these kids are going to have no writing skills, horrible communication skills and very bad non-verbal skills as they grow up. I see kids texting while bike riding and skateboarding. It depresses me when I go out to a bar with a friend and they have to text their "other person" the whole time we are out. I don't have an "other person" so my phone stays in my purse.

btw...another client texted in today about a password reset. Texting me does not get you in line first! I have to train all of them now to call or email. No shortcuts, no cutting in line.

Wait, 2 clients have texted so far. The other guy and I have a meeting tomorrow to discuss "managing expectations" he thinks because he texts at 10:00 at night, I will remote in and fix his computer lol

Am i weird? I switch my phone off after hours. I like my down time and that also helps manage expectations.

I wish I was weird, I can't sleep without my phone snuggled right next to me. I am in an upstairs bedroom alone and feel safer with it close and on. What did I do before cell phones? I had a landline plugged in next to my bed lol of course!

@glennd so yeah, if you turn off the phone the texts are there in the am. I have to learn to not work between 9-5. My downfall of life. :(

Im in the technology business, I don't discourage clients using any type of technology to contact me. I prefer email and text to phone calls because I'm mobile most of the time and I can answer when I want and am prepared instead of when a customer calls at a random time.
Plus I have a time stamped written record of the conversation. And many of my younger clients don't have a landline, so their isn't much difference to them between voice and text.

I couldn't live without Mighty Text, it allows me to get and send texts from my phone, computer, tablet whatever.

MightyText for responding from a PC, SMS Backup+ by Jan Berkel to back them up to a GMail folder for convenient later reference, and CallTrack by asterdroid mobile to put all calls (received, placed, missed) onto a Google Calendar (I have one just for Phone).
