I was just messing around with the Teamviewer session recorder and found it to be pretty neat. I am wondering what someone would use it for. I would think that if one were to come across a problem having a video of it would come in handy. Also, if I am doing remote work and I come across questionable files of possibly illegal nature then it may be a good idea to have a video showing that they were there when you connected and you didn't put them there.
Does anyone record the entire length of their session just as a security measure on your end? I would think this could be a good practice to get into if you are dealing with a system that is crashing or if you just want piece of mind that you have proof of the work you did.
On another note, does anyone know what the limitations are on video length? Can the video be viewed outside of the Teamviewer program? I found that a 33 second clip was only 1.1 meg so an hour should be about
125megs. I also found a 2 minute clip is 4.4 megs and this had a lot of background changes.
So, what are your thoughts on keeping a log of your remote sessions? You should be able to log 6,700 hours of data on a 1TB drive, so it may be worth is as an insurance policy AND if you do make a mistake, you can go back and see what you did to help in the recovery.
Any other way to view it? I tried vlc and it was a no go.
Thoughts?
