I was wondering if anyone of you have switched completely over from mhelpdesk over to repairshopr. how was the experience and transition, was there anything that was missing, etc. or that you did not like? thanks in advanced!

Yes I did over 2 years ago. Absolutely the best thing that I could have done to streamline the business! They are 100% focused on the IT market unlike mhelpdesk who has several vertical markets.

They have made so many improvements over the past 2 years that have really made it even better. Almost monthly they are adding things.

If you have any questions would be glad to help you out.

I'm in the migration process, but I will be keeping the Mhelpdesk database. I have too many crazy tickets to move them over. I have to say that RS delivers in terms of community engagement support (and marketing) and staying on top of everything/updates, etc.

One thing I should mention is we have importers from a number of products out there. On our Customer CSV Import screen you can actually just upload your mhelpdesk customer csv without modification and our importer knows what to do. (If that file ever doesn't work, email support - we do have to update that mapping periodically).

As for tickets, I bet most people request an export of their data and just manually enter a few of the important tickets into RS and keep a spreadsheet of the historical or something.

- thread hijack alert -

We also have importers for CommitCRM, PCRT, Connectwise, and some others in the cell phone repair space.

We can also do some magic with CSV data for assets, tickets, invoices - if you want to bring in your historical stuff and have it tied to the customer - just get with our support team.

I think the cost savings alone should be the reason to switch. However, I'll be the sour grape here and say RR is still not cost effective for me. I use InvoicePlane to which I've done a lot of custom coding to it (PHP and SQL is like a second language to me) and have turned it into what I need and besides, its free and its hosted on my own in-house server.

Yes it does more then just invoices.

I've been wanting to switch myself. Unfortunately my expense will actually double when I switch as I'm on an old mhelpdesk plan that is much cheaper than it is now.

We hear this a lot, then if the Marketr module gets you 1 extra job per month, it's actually cheaper to switch even though the software costs more..

Then, consider the 50 other things that'll work like that :)

Don't take my word for it
