Switch from Win 7 Home Pro to Win 7 Pro

I just picked up a neat little Acer Aspire One netbook as my new tech laptop and it came with Win 7 Home Pro on it.

I have always used a Pro version with other versions of Windows, would upgrading to Win 7 Pro matter or would it just be a waste of money.

This is my tech laptop that I take on-site with me, so I can't worry about any limitation the home Pro version might have and I haven't found anything that really compares the difference of the two.

I have Win XP Pro on my old Dell and it handles everything, but I really don;t think going backwards is the right solution.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

If the Aspire One is running an Atom processor, check that it supports hardware virtualization. Most don't and won't run XP mode.

Thanks for that tidbit of information.

I was thinking of getting one of the older 10.1" Acers with the Atom, but ended up getting a manufacture refurb from Acer with a Intel Celeron CPU 877 @1.40 GHZ and 4.0 GB Ram (Upgradeable to 8GB) for the same price as the used ones I was looking at.

I'm happy I made this choice, it runs like a charm and does what I need it to so far.
