Ok.. Someone of you know I am pondering opening up a store front.

My need to stock certain items has been growing too. In the past I would just "swing" by somewhere and grab a HD, NIC etc.

I want to start stocking a few items and I would like to know where you guys are getting your gear.

Thanks all... What are the term around times for shipping etc..

I would also recommend you to look at this http://www.technibble.com/my-onsite-technician-gear/ I don't recommend picking up to many of the items out side of what Bryce has in his on site. the reason why is because you will eventually have to sell them at reduced rates, and loose money.

As for shipping every site has different s&p policy's and time, its on avg a 3-5 day turnaround.

I get my stuff at compusa (deals) although I don't stock anything really.

oooo how much I hate you, I wish I lived near you I loved CompUSA when we had it here in town. Their staff where a ton of morons but I was in there enough I could navigate around them and get what I wanted.

For you guys using Infotel, I'd be curious how the pricing compares with B2B TigerDirect since Infotel is just a sub-company or whatever of Tiger.

Anyone on Infotel be interested in swapping some pricing info via PM on a couple of products?

Also, I saw on their website something about an "application" that partners can use for getting pricing information, is that a downloadable app or just a special section of the website?

Infotel has different levels of discounts depending on how much you buy. We were Bronze last year, and our agent pushed us up to Platinum. (I assume there's a Silver and Gold in there somewhere. One day I called our agent and asked what the Bronze status meant and how we could change it, and she says 'Let me look....OH you qualify for Platinum!' :D ) Basically, whatever status you have changes the prices you see on the website.

After we select our items, we submit a quote, and our agent tweaks the prices and reduces the shipping...usually about 5-10% off what our quote was. I'm not sure how it compares with Tigers B2B, I would assume it's the same or maybe a tad less, since they use the same warehouse. We tend to lump orders together as much as we can, since the shipping stays low no matter the order size, unless we order big things like cases, etc.

The computers that we buy from them, Ultra and Systemax, come from a different warehouse, this one from Fletcher, Ohio. The selection is larger and separate from anything on TigerDirect, and pricing is much lower.

As far as the Application thing, we don't use it. I just read up on it while writing this, and it sounds like a program that syncs with them, and shows you exactly what I can already get from the website, and requires a Net 30 account. We don't have a charge account with them at this time, we pay as we order, which imo works better for us. We don't necessarily need a large Infotel bill at the end of the month!

I'll ask our agent about that application thing...and feel free to shoot me a PM for price comparison.

Three Dog, thanks for the info, sounds about the same then. I'm on Tiger's Platinum also and do the same for submitting quotes to try and get a little more off, things have worked out pretty good. I don't have an OA either, just pay with the business CC (get cash back that way :).
