OFFICIAL VICTIM STATEMENT IN REGARDS TO THIS VIDEO POST
Brought Windows 8 computer into The Computer Guy shop because of an internet crash on spouses Windows 8 Lap Top that was currently being used for photo editing..
Computer tech said he knew nothing of Windows 8, couldn’t stand it, and recommended upgrading to Windows 10.
I told him there was a program that I used for work and could not afford to upgrade the program and it was detrimental to my work.. The internet was only secondary. Since I did not know if the program was compatible, I told him to save us both time and money I would leave my business card. He was to do some research on the issue to find out if it was compatible with Windows 10. If it was, he would call me and get authorization to do the upgrade.
I left and drove the 4 miles to the next city to inquire on the issue with the local computer store.
They said that it was a recent issue with the AVG upgrade. They had currently been dealing with the issue with several of the other customers and it as a quick fix in the permissions settings. They also told me that they knew for a fact that my program was compatible with Windows 10.
I then called The Computer Guy and asked if he had found out any info on the compatibility issues.
He stated that he had not had the time to even look into the matter. I told him that at that time I was interested in alternative solutions and would be by to pick up the computer.
After picking up Step Daughter from school bus I went into the computer shop to retrieve computer.
The owner demanded $49.
I told him that since he admit-tingly did nothing and spent no contracted or otherwise time on the issue what the charge was for. He said if I wanted the computer back it would cost me $49. I then told Step Daughter to go outside and call 911. She left.
I told the owner that if I have paid him for I reached to unplug my computer that was in the universal customer allowed / work space.
He then grabbed the lap top raised over his head, threatening to hit me with it, circling around to trap me in store.
I told him that he was trying to rob me and that he should not conduct business in such a way and if he had in fact did any work I would have no issues paying him.
He then proceeded to pull out the can of Bear Mace. I put my hand up in protection stating that he should think this trough and he would go to jail.
He then proceeded to mace me and pummel me out of his store where I remained until authorities arrived.
He refused to produce any video footage at the time stating that I came in and tried to rob him of a Lap Top.
The police said that they would try to get completer video footage from him but until they where able to retrieve the video footage, it was his word against mine and they would file a report that should be available to me in 48 to 72 hours. The owner said that due to complications from being maced he was unable to retrieve video but seemed had no issues giving the two sheriff deputies bottled waters.
I ended up in the emergency room that evening due to eye irritation and blurred vision.
The sheriff department failed to have any reports available after two weeks of inquiries. I was given a report number by the Clerk at the sheriff station after she took my phone number and said that she would contact me as soon as the report was ready. I have yet to receive any calls.
About two weeks later this edited video surfaced on You Tube entitled “BEAR MACE VS THIEF” This video was posted by the owner of The Computer Guy where he also edits in false subtitles.
Due to pending actions and to protect the facts and evidence in this case this is just a summary of the events that took place in this incident.
I am not the only person that has been victimized and or ripped off by this owner/ computer guy. Just the first one to stand up to him.
This was a very unfortunate and embarrassing situation and will continue to seek justice in this matter.
