Someones cloning my site

Look into turning off your directory browsing in your Wordpress site. Your files and images are visible for all to see.

This can be either be done automatically from your hosting providor ( I use heart internet hosting and all my wordpress sites do not allow directory browsing by default) or through editing the htaccess file or via plugins

Awwz

he did took it down :(

Damn. That was generating some hootz on my facebook page :)

The website client, it's turns out he sent me a private message on here a while back asking whether I wrote the site or used a theme but I never saw it.

As he apologised and agreed to remove the text/images I'm happy no harm was done.

P.S. That wasn't really my ar5e, mines more hairy

is still pointing to your site. Even the contact us link is pointing to your contact page, and the prices are still in good old pounds sterling.

Andy

P.S. Was late to the party. Would have been nice to have seen the virus removal page that everyone seemed to enjoy so much.

GRRRR, I think it would be rude of me then not to change the picture, refresh it now to see my pretty face on his site :D

I would not be happy if someone did this to us.

After the first time my site got /completely/ copied by a local guy who set up business just up the road from me with everything (business model, prices, all of the text) identical, I set up an account with these guys

It warns me if anyone copies my site now, and I have a cease and desist notice set and ready to go as an email template.

If you have a good website, people will copy it.

When they copy it, they will cost you rank in google (duplicate content penalty)

Not worth messing around. Its an act of theft that will cost you money and should be taken seriously.

That said, I have to say that if I could possibly do what has been done here to them before having the content removed, I would do it in a heartbeat.

This is my new favourite Tn thread :)
