SMART HDD Utility

Hi Guys,

Could somebody please recommend a good utility to monitor the SMART attributes of a particular hard disk drive?

Crystal Disk Info is a good app. There is a portable version available too for client machines.

I use HD Tune, it's free, portable if you copy the program files dir, and also lets you benchmark, scan for bad sectors, etc

If it comes up with a caution i'll then run the disk manufacturers own sofware.

I run this little app on pretty much all the computers that i repair.

I have however found on odd occasions that they both give different results for UltraDMA CRC Error Count when connected by USB.

I've always used Crystal Disk.

+1 for HDTune - it's got a free; pro & portable version, the pro version gives far more detailed info but we usually run the free or portable ver on nearly every pc we look at, it's one of the first things we do.
