I have a small business that has a remote office with two people in it. The remote folks connect to workstations in the main office (they sometimes work in the main office, so they need a computer there) using GoToMyPC. They need to do this to access the company database, LOB software, etc. There is something about using this setup that gets them out of paying a remote site fee for their LOB software. If, for example, we just created a VPN and gave them direct access with their remote computers - they would have to pay an annual 2nd site fee, which is approaching 5 figures. No go, sayeth the controller.
We have investigated alternate access scenarios in the past (the main office does have a server running server 2012), but the LOB application has thwarted any change. It doesn't work over terminal server, it doesn't print correctly over RDP - so we landed on GTMPC a few years ago and it has been working fine. The remote office is not growing, so the non-scalability of the GTMPC solution hasn't been an issue.
At the main office, both of the computers used by the remote folks are sitting at the same desk and share a monitor/keyboard/mouse with a small KVM switch. This works well since both folks don't visit at the same time.
So, now the simple question - the remote folks want to use dual monitors on their setups in the remote office. This doesn't really work with GTMPC unless you also have dual monitors on the computer you are connecting to in the main office - which is not surprising.
Is there a KVM switch that will let you share dual monitors? I'm not sure what else to suggest given the budget constraints. Barring that, I think we're at the "you can't do that" stage.
