A customer picked up server 2003 oem for $250.00 can after looking at the top of the top of the cd has the hologram look but also has bubbles on the top surface, the label looks legit.

The hologram ring around the outer edge goes from microsoft to genuine so all the security features are there.
When i boot the disc is says missing files, tried on multiple dvd writers.
5clt oem version lists for $800.00 even with my software supplier.

That is a judgement call based on observation, as I can't see it, I can't really say. If the license is legit, just download server 2003 from ms and install it agian.

From what you have shared with us about the appearance and the fact that it says it can't find files, it sounds like it was damaged by heat at some point.

I scanned the cd's they have quite a few errors no scratches though what is ms method of replacing defective oem cd's?.

Thing is once you open software you cannot send it back to who you bought it from.

Can you download them off microsoft there website is very user unfriendly takes too long to find anything and every time i click on something that says download server 2003 r2 it goes to 2008 server downloads.

This is the first time i have had bad media from microsoft.

I have server 2003 r2 retail disks is there any way to make it an all in one?.

*update got a hold of the oem cd's the numbers match the ones i have they look identical installed it tried the license number, says its not valid had employees double check it seems this is not legit? the disk top looks like it has some sort of plastic protection? the other one i have does not, there seems to be a outer hub on this disk other one does not.

The material that the license number is made of does not match others i have seen its more like cloth than paper with strange backing on it?.

Yet the holograms on inner ring are there?.
