Security Industry response to WikiLeaks/CIA breach

He questioned whether there was even anything new in the release and speculated that it could even be a ploy to distract the attention of the public and foreign intelligence agencies. “People are talking about the [Weeping Angel] Samsung TV hacking tool, and that was something that was public several years ago,” he said. “That's not something that's going to make you say ‘wow'. It looks like a honeypot strategy – it's deflecting attention from other things.”

Yes, I did also. The CIA are renowned masters at manipulating and spreading misinformation so I'm sure that anything Wikileaks got would be "out-of-date" and old news now! I'd also wager that what Wikileaks got was probably what the CIA allowed them to have.
An organisation like this would no doubt cover their tracks pretty well.
Some other articles discuss comments by "hackers" on how they achieved certain exploits which were being used up to 7 years ago. Unfortunately, there is no way to prove/disprove the truth of those statements. The CIA could be manipulating the whole scenario?
