I've a couple of Satellite Pro A120s in for DC jack socket repair and I'm struggling to find the right sockets? Anyone know the part number or whether these are the same some other Tosh laptops so I can use that info to find them?

The one seller on ebay that has A120 sockets specifies that they won't fit the exact models I have in.

Is it the A120-105 ? You are going to have to compare the jack to other Toshiba jacks and find a near match.

If you can take a couple of different angle, high quality photos and post them here I might be able to help.

Can't find the bloody lead for the camera right now and my phone won't do macros good enough.

I'll get a new lead tomorrow.

In the meantime it's a black plastic socket with central pin. It's soldered to the board with no lead. It doesn't sit ON the board but rather hangs by 4 side pins in a little section that's been cut-out of the board like some of the e-systems machines. It has K6 stamped into it

I'm familiar with that jack in Tecra A8's. Its very rare and it took me weeks when I tried to find one a couple years ago. Even in the A8 it was not in all models so you search on that and get different jacks.

Not sure what other models use it but I'm sure if its in the pro a120 and the tecra a8 its got to be in something else.

Yeah it's giving me a headache trying to find it. I've even spent like 40 mins scouring google images under various searches in the hope I'll spot one.

What makes it unusual is one side is positive and the other negative - both pins on each side being linked and no pin coming out the back.

I'm starting to think of these solutions:

Buy a broken board and nick the socket ( I also need an audio headphone socket which is going to be even harder to find I imagine).

Solder a lead type tosh socket and either cut a hole for it somewhere else or have it coming out of a hole, lead and all.

Thanks Nige but sadly not on those either

I've ordered a broken mobo off ebay for the audio socket (no way of finding one of those as far as I can tell). So unless something else turns up I'll take the power socket off too....if I can get it cleanly off of course.
