I am having problems burning cds with RealPlayer. I can play downloaded clips, cds and/or dvds. Just can't burn. System hangs and I have to re-boot to get out of it. I have 2 other computers in my household (one notebook and one desktop) and there is no problem using RealPlayer. I have been dealing with this prob for about 2 months and HP can not figure out what to do or what is going on. RealPlayer techs suggested re-booting in Safe Mode with and without Networking to isolate the problem. I have done both and no problem using RealPlayer. But, I don't know how to go about finding the culprit software, etc that is causing the hang in the burn mode. Also, this doesn't happen with Windows Media player, Power2go, etc. Just with RealPlayer.
Can anyone tell me what to look for and/or what to uninstall to fix the problem?

Hi Rick C.,

Are you a technician? If so, great! We'll be glad to help. If not, please read the intro to TechNibble.

"What is Technibble? Technibble is a resource for computer technicians who are looking to start their own computer business or improve their existing one. Technibble also provides an amazing place for technicians to help other technicians via our forums."

If realplayer burns ok in safe mode but not in normal. Try start\run\msconfig
Goto startup tab and remove ones you don't want starting, see if this cures. If not goto services tab and tick hide all microsoft services, then disable all. Try again. This should help you narrow down and hopefully sort. If still having trouble try a malware removal program such as malwarebytes etc.
