A customer of mine had sold his business last year and is currently on an Australian wide adventure. So he is after a laptop that can handle being bumped around and fairly rugged. I have not really dealt with these types of laptops these are what is being requested - I was thinking of a Lenovo Thinkpad variant.

USB-C Power Ports on Laptop
Rugged and Bag to suit.
14” or 15.6”

Others specs fairly standard - current

Cheers.

Panasonic Toughbook is the only thing that comes to mind to me. Probably refurbished because brand new they cost a bunch.

I've gotten ruggedized laptops from here...recently a few models for marina clients...the mechanics....lugging laptops down in the engine bilges to connect to mercruiser inboards for example. So dealing with dark, dampt/wet, sometimes bright light if hatches are open, oil/grease, etc.

Panasonic Toughbooks have the popular name....but alternatives, like Getak...are also great....the last few I ordered were Getaks...still going strong.

Thankyou to you both love the link for ruggedbooks, will bookmark it.
I did check out Panasonic Toughbook though bit out of price range.

I am looking at -

"Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 7 14" Business Laptop" combined with a "Targus 15.6" Laptop Backpack + Multiport Hub + USB-C Adapter Bundle".

The clients budget was $AUS1000 - I said no chance. These two with my costs included came to around $AUS1900.

As much as I love Lenovo...ThinkPads....we stick with the T, P, and X models..and avoid the L and E models. While the T, P, and X models are...strong...."mil spec"...carbon frames 'n such.....they're not ruggedized. Ruggedized means a bit more.

(Typing from a ThinkPad X1 Extreme right now).

I also firmly believe in factory refurbs as a good option for higher end laptops which..new...are out of budget. I'd rather have a factory refurb T, P, or X model....over a brand new lesser priced laptop. That link I have above also sells refurbs...check out the "Deals" link and other spots.

Thanks I would agree, though those models are out of the customers price range, cheers. The customer has a deadline of the end of June to get everything done as is off on the road again. I do not want to be swamped at the last minute with other things as happens. So I went with the "Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 7 14" Business Laptop" & a "Targus 15.6" Laptop Backpack + Multiport Hub + USB-C Adapter Bundle" in the end. It will suit the customers needs as they are on a limited budget.

Thanks all for the input, appreciated.
