hi Darren

Whats wrong with the board, so you need a replacement?

Only, I have mentioned a few times on TN, theres a company called rma updates..
http://www.rmaupdates.com/

who deal with mobo repairs to component level, at a fixed charge of £60+ vat.

Far cheaper than a new board. I have used them numerous times, and can vouch for them.

If you still need a board, have a look at pchub.com. they may be a little on the dear side, but have a very large assortment of parts.

Hi Nige
It Powers on and power light illuminates but no fan no display no hdd activate, I tested all components on another unit all ok So fingering that it only leaves the motherboard, Thanks for the info On http://www.rmaupdates.com/ I will give them a call in the morning if they can fix it for £60 it will be a good solution for now and in the future. Thanks and i will let you now how I get on.

Gave them a call very helpful and they Quoted £60 for the repair £15 for collection and £12 for delivery + Vat, so just waiting on customer now to see if it is worth it with my bit on top.

nice one. One thing I would consider if I was you, was to use your own courier service, for what is costing you £27+vat, you could get for around £15-20.

When I quote for mobo repairs, my usual fee, is £120-150, and 95% of clients take my advice. If your quote is in that ballpark, then I would say youve a good chance of getting the job.

Let us know how you get on. RMA also do dc repairs, for £40+vat, plus the courier, in case you didnt know about that.

Helpfully The customer will go for it, All I have added on is £30 my diagnostic fee so £140.40 with the vat is the quote to the customer. Here's hoping.
I am looking in to cost of Currier I have spoken to city link, TNT and DHL who are quoting between £8.50 up to £17.99 + Vat

The customer sed it is to expensive:( But could I recover his files:) I explained it would be £90 with the diagnostics and recovery, he sed that's fine so I went on to say for an Extra £50 he could have it repaired He declined and sed just go ahead and recover what files I can, so it's all good but I will defiantly use RMA next time I get the opportunity
Thanks for you help Nige;)

Shucks.. well you win some, and you lose some. Nature of the beast.

Btw, do you add the cost of the diagnostics to your clients invoice?.. Just wondering..

And your more then welcome for the heads up re rma. They are well worth knowing about ;)
