So I ordered a replacement battery for my personal laptop, and received it today. When I got it, I immediately topped off the charge to 100% (it was 95% when it arrived) and then checked the stats with BatteryInfoView.

First thing I noticed was that the wear level was at 98.9% I also noticed that the Designed Capacity was only 47,520 mWh.

This was supposed to be a 48,000 mWh replacement battery, but from day one it's full charge capacity is only 46,991 mWh.

Is this normal? I've honestly never had to replace a laptop battery before, personally or for a customer (and not surprisingly... it's not something I would expect someone to pay me to do). I guess I could attribute some of the wear to Quality Control checks maybe. Has anyone else ever checked a replacement battery's values against it's rated specs?

Aside from that, I was extremely pleased with the supplier. I ordered the battery from Amazon, and it was fulfilled by "Bay Valley Parts" (Seller Profile Here).
The price was great... just $19.99 for a direct replacement (6-cell) with free shipping. But the best part was the shipping. I ordered on Thursday (3/21)... it was scheduled to arrive between Wednesday (3/27) and the following Monday (4/1). I received it a full 2 days early (3/25)! Considering the weekend, that's just 3 business days... not bad for free shipping! :D

Other than my curiosity about the battery specs, I would definitely use this supplier again.

I've seen new batteries with similar specs.

I don't think it is of any concern as long as it's working properly.

Thanks for the tip on Bay Valley parts, I'll check them out.

By the way, I use Amazon and try to buy only Anker Chargers and batteries.

I have had 100% success with them.

Yeah I'd seen others recommend Anker, but since it was my own PC, and a secondary one at that, I figured I'd take a chance on a cheaper supplier.

Thanks for the reassurance on the specs!
