[REQUEST] Recommend an Office Chair

All my chairs must have the back and bottom tilting together. I hate a chair that has a reclining back. I'm lucky enough to have a client that reps office furniture. He has supplied me several beautiful (but obsolete) office chairs.

The owner here has back issues and is a fairly big guy, 6'4" I believe.

He picked up a Serta office chair. Its big, comfy, and has lots of adjustments.

Chairs are one of those things I want to sit down in and try before buying... I would go to some local stores and try some various ones out.

Also, take a look to see if you have any used office furniture resellers near you. You can pick up top-shelf stuff for bargain pricing. The one near me will even repaint things like file cabinets to your liking. I picked up a Herman Miller chair for about $100 a few years ago, looked and felt brand new.

If you can pick up a cheap Herman Miller Aeron chair, I’d go with that. I bought one new 5 years ago. For my back and general comfort, it’s the best chair I’ve ever sat in. Accountant thought I was mad when he spotted it in the accounts! But when you think of the amount of time you’ll spend sitting in it, it’s worth it.
