Hello guys,

New here, Currently I run memtest for memory, then hdat2 for harddrive. But I am wondering if there is something I could use to boot that will test all System hardware i.e Mainboard, CPU, vid card, memory, hd

Tbh i'm not using it that much as I don't have a shop but I wanted to test some hardware on a laptop last night overnight and I just set it up to do that. I like it but probably don't use it to its' full capacity.

We use QuickTech Pro and it works very well. It never misses something that memTest or any HDD test would've otherwise picked up on.

If you don't feel like paying for an all-in-one solution like that, you could divide and conquer with free tools. Run memTest on the machine while running WinDLG/SeaTools on the hard drive slaved/hot-swapped to your tech system.

I just bought the "lite" version of this to test it out. My grandfather bought them for years. He bought a lot of different types, including the $4000 Ultra-X kit back in the 90's. He like this company better.

p.s. It seems to run great for me.

@ Knghtsman just puling your leg post a link for comparison chart, the kit is a complete package solution that takes the skill and knowledge out of diagnostics

For kicks and giggles, I bought this last night. Good for a general test on the system, it seems.

Funny part is they don't seem to have brought it into the 21st century as you still only have the option for LPT printing or floppy disk saves.

I used to use it on a floppy years ago for testing and only just recently threw it out :)

You can't argue with the price that's for sure.

I've tried a few of these test disks and whilst there is an appeal to be able to set it running and get a report, the price many firms are charging is way too high considering that 90% of what it's likely to ever detect is covered by memtest and seatools. So I'm paying hundreds for the convenience of a batch file.

If tufftest will do disk and memory with no need for user interaction in between then I'm well up for that. Does it?
