I am working on a HP Pavilion a6650f.

It was put up for quite some time, when I opened the tower it had a lot of fuzz so I carefully vacuumed it and cleared the fuzz without touching the components too much.

When I initially connect the power source to the tower, it turns on, all the fans, but no display at all, the monitor wont acknowledge the PC, I tried the monitor with different PC and it works. I replaced the graphics card thinking it would solve my problem. I received and installed it today and nothing changed, I tested the graphics card on another PC and it worked.

I have tried some things with no success, like restarted the cmos on the motherboard.

I also provided some pictures, if any additional information is needed I can provide it, any suggestions welcomed, please help.

Thank you for your time.12231585_10205356942622928_751105555_n.jpg

Onboard graphics card being preferentially used? (change in BIOS) The integrated video on those HP's is supposed to be disabled when the PCIe slot is in use... does the graphics card you are using require additional power?

Does the MB give the correct beep codes when you put it into an error state (i.e., remove RAM and power on... does it correctly tell you that there is an error with memory?).

Have you tried a different power supply?

With HP's, I find it is usually the fuzz that is keeping it all together... kind of like the dirt that holds my car together.

Thank you so much for your time and response, I agree with you on the fuzz keeping it together. I did try a different PSU with no luck.

I have found the problem though, it was the cpu, the tab couldn't be put down due to the fan being on the way, I separated them, and placed the CPU back properly and it worked, after years of being off.

yes, and he also explained what was wrong and what he did to correct it... which is adding value and content to the site...

so relax...

The user name and avatar were a bad reflection on this forum in Google searches. They were both really unprofessional and offensive. If this was simply a chat forum or a gaming forum or such, it wouldn't be as much of an issue, but we are supposed to be professionals here and should present ourselves as such at least in the indexed subforums. They subtract from the value to the forum that the post otherwise added.

Mod note: due to how we want to keep this forum professional. And after attempting to contact the op to change their name, with having no reply.

I took it upon myself to change the op's name, and remove the avatar.

The op is aware of the changes, as contact has been made alternatively.

The name change may be amended when we hear back off him. But it certainly will not be the original name.

Thanks all :)

I would have assumed the forum platform had some filters to catch common inappropriate words. May need to check on that and see if it's enabled and possibly add some specific keywords to the filter.

The forum itself does have certain filters, which are enabled with a number of potential keywords or phrases.

The question then becomes, how can you think of each and every phrase or word which can be typed. And or spelled in different ways. Simple answer it isn't possible.

I / we can only add keywords on a as and when basis. Rest assured though, that the filter has been added to.

Yeah, there's no way to filter everything and I get that. I was just surprised that particular word slipped through. Maybe it was because it was combined and not a separate word on it's on.
