Please Comment About My Site

This is extremely small but on the left side of your home button in the nav bar there appears to be a border where there isn't on the opposite side. Not sure if it was meant that way or not but thought I'd mention it. Well done!

It took me about one evening to figure it out. Remember that pages are referred to as articles in Joomla, I was a bit confused about this at first. I didn't use sections or categories just articles.

Any links to resources you used? Guides?

How can I get it to stop showing the domain name? That's my biggest question now.

Not really, I just used Google to find out what I wanted to do. :) There is lots of forums and help sites that tell you how to do about anything with Joomla. Good Luck!

As to the content, I would take out the Clean Cut comment, Let the photo convey that image. (it does it well!)
I would replace it with Prompt and or Courteous, (as long as you are)

Also the map is zoomed too far in to your location you should either back it out so people can see the "area" or state "Just 8 minutes from Downtown Versailles" click to see map

On the contact page you state "Complete this form and I will contact you within two business days"
That is a "turn off" it should be hours at the most.

I definitely would add some testimonial content from your past customers so as to alleviate fear people may have seeing your photo as you do look quite young.

I would find a computer image with a colored background to take the starkness out of the page.
Great start and keep working it as it will only get better.

I have been trying to set aside some time to dive into the Joomla world and set up a site to play with. Did you find it relatively easy to get it going?
Would you mind sharing your best resource for tips.

Joomla or ?

For the site I would just remove the Payments page and maybe mention you take cash and check under your prices. I was told that under construction or coming soon leaves a bad impression and you are better to just not display the content. I would replace the Joomla icon with the power button in your logo if you need some assistance let me know.

I'm curious why Joomla over Drupla, DotNetNuke Modx or Wordpress?
Here's a link to the 2009 CMS awards http://www.packtpub.com/overall-open-source-cms-award-finalists

I'm currently running my site on DotNetNuke, hosted on GoDaddy. I'm thinking of switching over to a PHP and MySql for the performance. http://www.DangITcomputer.com

Should I submit this as a new thread?

I like the site. I also like the idea of the picture on the front page. As you said, I think it does builds trust and confidence to a point (not hiding behind our computers). I plan on doing the same on my site, and maybe even a you tube video (people can actually hear and see you talking! ). I personally don't like when sites have generic pictures of people on a computer or a call center person that I'm sure doesn't work for the company. Those kind of turn me off (seems too "salesy"). Also, your site is clean and simple. I think it's on the right track.

Looks pretty good so far. Clean and simple. I think I would add a little more color, perhaps in the headings.
This is a very nice web site. looks good, serious and proffesional business.i would keep it as it is. white is the king of color for web site. i wouldnt mix any color it will make it less pro and will make it small, not very pro company impretion. However i would take the photo of the site to make it look more pro.

I am working on a new site with Joomla. You can see the site at: hesscomputercare. com

I would like comments and suggestions. Thanks!
I realy like your web site. I loved the plain look, white color, simpleness. but in order to get high ranking you need to have a lot more info than what you have on your homepage + if you are going to promote your hompage SEO you need to put list of your service to your home page too so you can find for thoose keywords. When you start SEO you going to do lot of changes and many words so make sure you plan and have some space ready with out largering your page size. remember for google ranking 2010 page speed is new and importand factor! U need more space from every corner to your h1 tag, words mixed to each other on my screen. internet explorer 1024- 768 res. over all i like the way you started. once you complete your site please share it here again so i can comment on your seo too.
