PC Repair Tracker

The error is usually caused by a mistyped variable, or a variable that is undeclared. Check to make sure the variable is typed correctly.

Edit: Looked at the error message more. It's pointing to the word "func" on line 21. Use an editor such as "NotePad++" (Free) to look on line 21.

I upgraded earlier today with no problems but for new installs there was a problem with something missing so Luke sent out an update.

We are wanting to see before purchasing this product if it will work in Windows environment or Ubuntu?

Thanks

If you are installing PCRT on your webserver, the system is entirely PHP, using MySQL. And with the tools available for both, you should have no problem installing it on either your own server, whether Win or Linux, or any popular hosting company.

can't get to pcrepairtracker.com

been reading all thro' this thread & wanted to try it out, but can't get to the site pcrepairtracker.com, anyone else having problems getting to it?

I googled pcrepairtracer.com + pc repair tracker & found other pages like demo, faq's etc but can't get to any of them either??

Thanks guys

BCC

Would someone be able to help out with the installation of PCRT. I don't really know where to start with PHP and MySQL. The site says they do not support running it in Windows. Will Ubuntu work? Any help would be appreciated. Or point me in the right direction. Thanks

Would someone be willing to shoot me the same info? I'm not a web designer, and most of my experience is in Windows. I've set-up a FOG server before using Linux Mint 9 and 11, so I am sorta familiar with terminal commands, but not sure exactly where to start for PC repair Tracker?

This of course assumes your running it locally and not on a webserver

Windows - download and install WAMP Server Has everything you need to run an Apache server and more....
Linux - download and install XAMPP Has everything you need to run an Apache server on Linux.

It is very straight forward, but you'll need to setup your own .htaccess info.

IS it hard to create an .htaccess file? and yes I'll be hosting it locally but allowing it to be used from the outside.

SUCCESS!!!!!! Thanks for the Links and help guys!

used a google search to find
worldoweb.co.uk/2009/install-lampp-in-linux-mint

for those who are like me and don't know about linux distros!

and even though it says mint it will work for all Debian based kernals.

Glad to hear, I like the potential of PCRT but I'm all about visuals and PCRT is kinda "messy". Someday though!

So is there someone that can help us edit/customize our PC Repair Tracker? We will pay for the service and everything, but we do not have a HTML bone in our body, haha

I bought PCRT and D7 this year and have absolutely no regrets! PCRT has definitely made us more organized and efficient. Plus the customers are pretty impressed that they can check their repair progress online with a smartphone or computer. :)

PCRT is great! The forums are full of suggestions, tweaks and fixes. Luke is the man behind it all and he is great when you have a problem or a question. It is not html it is PHP files that you will be dealing with. You can use Wordpad to edit these files or I use Crimson Editor to edit my PHP files. I had no experience with these files at all before but it is really easy and PCRT is so customizable, it is great for a small pc repair business.

I seen this software and was in awe.....its very awesome and was all excited to purchase it, but I have never worked on,more or less built a server so I probably need to find somthing more windows friendly :(
