PC Repair Tracker

It's great. Just wish I could get a reply to a request I put in a week ago. I'd like to be able to immediately email claim tickets / everything immediately. A lot of folks either have a second computer or a smart phone and I'd just as soon be able to email it to them than print it.
I'm thinking that the settings could even be set so that if a customer has already provided their email address the claim ticket could either default to email or, at least, offer.

If any PHP wizards know how to make this happen in the mean time....

Question: After a few days of testing, I've only just started using it with actual customers. 3 to be exact; all 3 have email addresses entered. After checkout, 2 of them have the option to email the customer report but the 3rd does not. Anyone know why?

Does anyone take payments other than cash/chq/credit card?

Does anyone accept paypal or bank transfers, EFT, or payments other than the CASH/CHQ/CCARD optoins available in PCRT checkout?

I do a bit of business via bank transfers, EFT and Paypal. It would be great to see this feature in PCRT - to be able to handle custom payments for things other than the 3 options currently available.

Would custom payment types be something anyone else here would use?

New PCRT 1.28 to be released in the coming days.

I have personally demoed it and I think that the new features added are awesome! Lots of UI updates and additional payment gateways. Luke has also implimented various feature requests from what I can see.

Cant wait for the changelog to be released to see all the updates.

From what I got from the demo:

-Added ability to email claim ticket
-Expaned span of repair sheet to full page width
-Added paypal as a payment gateway
-tons of UI changes, touchscreen completely changed
-Added deposit function
-Appers to have added card reader capability. The paypal payment screen shows "Swipe Credit Card NOW! (PayPal)"
-Ability to do split payments.
-Ability to edit common problems/requests

This is good news indeed! Funny- I finally got around to upgrading to 1.27 tonight... guess I won't have much time to play with it before I upgrade again. The PayPal payment gateway will be AWESOME, as well as expanding the span of the repair sheet to full page width.

One thing though- aren't we already able to edit common problems/requests?

Okay? What do you mean by that?

When I was reading through the threads here the last person on the first page did not know what PCRT stands for. I replied not realizing there was more pages to the thread. ;)

I like the looks of PC Repair Tracker. I think I am going to purchase a copy very soon. Seems like something that fits one of my needs right now.

Prof- I am usually not one to rave about a particular application, but as you will see previously in this thread- I have nothing but good things to say about Luke and his PCRT system. Over the last two years I have tried spreadsheets, open source CRM modules, along with various subscription based, hosted CRM/CMS systems, and none of them even come close to the flexibility and ease of PCRT. To be able to modify certain aspects of the system with a little knowledge of PHP, at least to me, is amazing in itself.

This one-time purchase will give you free upgrades for a year, access to the user forum to learn more about the system, how to tweak it to your needs, and the ability to request certain modifications in future upgrades. This system is geared towards using in a store front environment, but I have been able to customize it and use it for my mobile tech business with no problems whatsoever.

Just get it already! :)

Email Luke and ask to demo the system- you won't regret it.

I checked my install of 1.27 and I couldn't find where I could.

Can anyone tell me? The edits I've done in the code of pages, what happens to them during an upgrade? Are they lost? Somehow absorbed into the new pages?

As I understand it, anything thats not in the two deps.php files will generally be overwritten during an upgrade.

(hope I understood your question correctly) :)

eHousecalls, check out the application Winmerge. I use it when an application updates but I need to move my code hacks over.
It'll show their official changes as well (which is good if you can read code), but it'll also show yours.

Thanks, Bryce. It would stand to reason there's a program for that. I'm just heading out for my first ATM repair but I'll check it out when I get back. It sounds familiar, as far as comparing text files... of course, it should work on PHP, too :)

Edit: I saved the original PHP files so, in the meantime, I can compare those with what I've got now.
