user has two accounts in profile
one cox email
one business imap email

Whenever I add the cox email the outlook program freezes at startup. Error is "Microsoft outlook has stopped working"

What I have tried
office 365 quick repair
office 365 full repair
deleted outlook profile and created a new one
deleted mapi and other temp files in local/Microsoft/outlook
configured with just cox email (crashed)
checked pst files and created new ones
Added cox with imap and pop settings

outlook works fine with pst files linked and imap email running. As soon as I add the cox email it will crash on startup.

Any ideas what could cause this or what else I should try?

Thanks in advance I have been working on this for two days.

Hiya.
Long shot time :)

Assuming 2013.

Have you tried disabling hardware accelleration in the settings. This is now a general 1st usage step, as it improves performance.

Also try outlook safe mode, fire it up with the command switch /safe

Ie outlook.exe /safe

Worth a shot

Have you checked add-ins?

What kind of A/V is running? Any leftover bits from a prior A/V installation?

Forgot to add that. Tried outlook /safe mode still crashes. Using security essentials. Tried uninstalling av still didnt work.

It is wired that it crashes when the cox account is added through pop or imap.

Also this was running fine for 2 months and it just started doing this. Not a new install issue. Thought that might help.

Check to see what was installed around that time, including Windows Updates.

System Restore back to a few months ago, just as a shot in the dark?

Restore is disabled but I will look at installs tomorrow. It is wierd that the pop or imap of cox causes it. The other imap is installed and works fine.
