Had a client today who have a username@btinternet.com account. BT moved away from their integrated Yahoo accounts and so made their users change their server settings for email clients too.
This user, on Outlook 2010 has problems with their btinternet email account.
You get: Error Code: 0x800CCCDD - Your IMAP server closed the connection popping up constantly.
Things tried:
Reinstalling Office (they did this)
Deleting and recreating email account (sometimes this works a bit in that it sets up the account OK, green ticks all around, but never syncs and the errors pop up. So accepts the password initially.
New outlook profile - no change
Using their account on my laptop at my location(outlook 2007) - works fine.
Thunderbird at their location - works fine.
Uninstalled McAfee - no dice.
Changing outlook's timeout settings, downloading headers only - no change
Using BT's alternative IMAP servers - no change
So it seems to be limited to Outlook 2010 for them.
Lots of BT users complaining about on BT websites. No satisfactory solutions I've seen.
