I got 5 Pentium IV dell laptops . Below are the things needed to be done one on each laptops.

1 Format Hard Drive
2 Install Win Xp with Service Pack 2
3 Microsoft Office Package
4 AVG Virus Software (Free Lifetime Updates)
5 Adobe Acrobat
6 Laptop Cleaning of the keyboard, screen and other case.
7 Diagnostics of the entire system after to check hard, cdsrom, floppy, etc.

Get back to me with your total cost for the services of 5 Laptops. I will pay you with a CHECK and you will received the cash before you proceed with the job. I await your urgent response so that i can make Moving arrangements and payment as soon as possible....

Wrap it all up with his IP in the e-mail header tracing back to starcomms.net (google it) and you got a pretty piss poor attempt at phishing IMO.

Thought I would share this in case there are some techs that hear from this clown... especially those that may be in Detroit area.
 
I had a similar email a while back. Followed it far enough to have them FedEx overnight me a check for about 2000 dollars. I was to cash it and then wire 1400 to someplace to ship the laptops to me. I said... um no..

At least they were out the cost of a overnight letter.
 
Usually this is what they do:

1. They make the email offer (as above)
2. They send you a check, for more then the agreed price. Lets say the total was $3000, they send $3500
3. You deposit check
4. As soon as you deposit, they contact you saying they accidentally over paid, can you send the extra $500 back. Meanwhile the check is still clearing
5. You send over $500, a couple of days later the original check bounces.

You are now out $500
