I don't know if many have come Cross customers who use 1and1 as their hosting platform. I have a customer who swears by them, which is fine as I have nothing to do with their domains apart from making the odd MX record change etc for email filtering.
Recently they have taken over a local hotel, the same place I have been cabling.
Anyway they wanted two installs of Office 365 mid size business plans.
No problem until you need to make the DNS changes for MX, cname (auto discover) etc.
Seems it's a well known issue that 1and1 don't support a few of the DNS entries.
For email you can have either an MX record or a cname auto discover but not both.
You can tell office 365 to not continue to verify the DNS but that still leaves auto discover missing.
I fixed this by adding a sub domain to the main domain and called it auto discover, this way you can add the auto discover cname entry and all is well again.
