I have office 2010 and was thinking of upgrading to office 2013.

Has anyone used it? would you recommend upgrading? what are the benefits?

thanks

For yourself, if you want to keep current to be able to support users, it might be a good idea. I am running Win 8 for that reason, (and oddly, I kind of like it.)

We advise our clients that there is no need to upgrade Office when new releases come out unless there is a new feature that will make the expense worthwhile. The changes are usually minimal and really, how much can they add to Word or Excel?

If you are rolling out a fleet of new machines that come with it pre installed, which we discourage, then you might want to upgrade older machines to keep things consistent.

I just installed the Office Pro Plus 2013 (from TechNet). Been playing a bit, but only have a few hours in it so far.

The only comment so far is that it's got the Win 8 "flat" GUI appearance, which I don't like that much as it is often difficult to determine which tab you're on.

i brought windows 8 to. I make myself use it an hour or 2 a day. got it on a VM.

I like it.

Most of clients are on office 2003 or 2007. So the rush to upgrade for support is minimal.

I guess i want to try it out but am having a hard time justifying the money when i could use it for something else.

Don't forget support for Office 2003 ends on April 8, 2014 along with Windows XP. May be a good time to contact some of your clients that are still on Office 2003 and prepare them for the upgrade :)

i have been. there will be a lot of money to be made in upgrades, new system setups, data transfer. I am looking forward to it.

Our office do not upgrade unless maker or microsoft stop supporting it like what will happen on windows xp.
