Hey Everyone

I was just a customer to solve an issue, HP Business class pc, nonstop long beeping when you hit the power button, beeping goes on, fan is working but no display. i unplugged all the usbs, tried it again no luck. took the memory out no luck, when i was trying to put the memory back in I unplugged the dvd drive (it was on my way) installed the memory back in, plugged the dvd drive back in. Put everything back in one piece. hit the power button AND ITS WORKING? no beeping sounds at all.. shut it on/off 5 times to see if I would get it again but no! its working now!! but what was the cause? dvd drive going bad? anyone had anything like this before?

Yeah, when the mobo POST's all the buses and voltages are checked. I've reseated memory, optical drives and various cables to get a recalcitrant PC to boot.

Sometimes you do get lucky with a reseat or the system is giving you a heads up about impending doom.

Had that issue in the past with a couple of PC's where after reseating the RAM the issue was fixed. I did do other diagnostics just to rule out any further issues but in the end it was just a matter of the RAM needing to be reseated.

first test is to remove all cards and ram and re install one at a time... if two sticks of ram alternate 1 at a time
