New to the business - website

Initial thoughts without looking too much is register a proper domain and get a decent logo. Pay to get one done because it says a lot about you. Your logo isn't very clear except it's a computer on fire which doesn't give out the right message.

edit - just checked roborobs.com & roborobscomputers.com are both available.

I actually hadn't had a chance to change it out for my new logo. Fits more of the Roborob's aspect. it's a robot holding a computer.

Ok see the new one now. Sorry I don't like it but maybe others will think it is good after all I am an oldie :D

I just think if you go with one of these design websites like 99design they will give you a fantastic choice of logos. Don't forget that logo is going to be on everything, business cards, website, adverts etc.

This pic, without any context, kind of gives the impression that you're not too motivated to repair.

Same with the INK thing. Given the size you've allocated, it gives the impression you're more concerned about recycling their computer and selling them ink than you are in the repairs.

LINKS: Newegg points to MS. I'd get rid of the more generic links -- if someone doesn't know to go to "hp.com", there's not much point in giving them a link to it. It's not a portal page so keep links relevant to your business.

LEGAL: 100% or money back? That's gonna bite you at some point.

CALENDAR: Doesn't have a calendar and has another big-ass ad about taking their computer away.

QUESTIONS: "Okay to contact"? They're already initiating a discussion. Ditch that.

PRICES: "Improve Processor Speed" You really want to rename that 'cause I doubt that's what you're doing.

Backups: "Ever had a computer crash and lost a file that couldn't be replaced with Roborob's Monthly Backup there are no worries of losing data from a computer crash"
That's a question and an answer.
$100/mo for a backup?!? Are you manually etching it into a golden tablet? A new 1TB drive each time?

BIO: Honestly, I'd be wary of a business that felt they needed to state their high school GPA (or even Univ. grades, for that matter). List work experience but keep it general; it's nobody's business where you worked but you might want to say what you've done.
Actually, since you've got an About page, I'd merge them.

Logo: Not sure if I like the cowboy-playing-hockey or the computer-still-in-flames.

Domain: Get one. Then set yourself up with Google Apps for your email, etc.
I've seen sites with their own domain and a gmail/yahoo/ISP address. I have no idea why anyone in our field would let themselves look that shoddy.

Guest book link: Ditch it. The 90s are over.

So, did you obtain the reproduction rights from CartoonStock.com for that?
If not, you set the bar right there with how your company treats pirated materials.

I've tried to fix these things and I am currently still working on them is there anything else anyone sees they think could use some improvement - also what price would you charge for a monthly backup service where u go on-site once a month and back the system up it is not automatic?

$30 for backup and that might be pushing it. Remember you are going there monthly and if people like you then it will work. I suggest you think about getting your own server if you want to do backup services and have people pay for space on the server (every 10 GB or so) per month.

Edit-Also the Office Live sites don't look very professional so I would plan on getting a proper domain (as short as possible) and a professional looking website asap.

1. the logo needs work. Consider 99designs.com to get one done professionally. This is particularly important starting out, especially if you are planning to add it to business cards and other advertising copy. If you get it right at the outset you will have a better professional image and save money on having printing redone to accommodate modifications as you evolve it.

2. I would remove the links to other websites. People can find websites if they want to using Google. Every external link you add is another click away from your page and a chance at killing a potential conversion. If you keep the links internal and focussed on YOU, you will give potential customers more time and opportunity to consider what you're offering.

===

3. I think your bio needs work. Im not sure if its a cultural thing but

Robert has worked his way up to becoming the man he is today
....makes me cringe. Also I would have less of the 'im still learning' stuff (although it might be true) as its reduction may possibly inspire more confidence in potential customers.

4. I think this may put people off before you have had a chance to speak to them and adequately sell yourself and your service

Hardware Installation/Upgrade Hardware is bought through a store or an online source.
The product is ordered and installed.
May take 1-3 weeks to complete depending on date of arrival of parts.
----3 weeks will make a negative impression outright IMO. Theres no benefit to you to mention a 'worst case' scenario before an outset or a customer query has even occurred. I would remove the timeframes and just state the service you are offering. Timeframes can be discussed when in conversation with the customer and modified if they require faster service from you.

===

5. your text formatting here needs some attention

Robert, founder of Roborob's Computer Repair, is a student studying to receive a Bachelor of Computer Information Systems Analysis.
In 2007, Robert got the dream of owning his own computer repair business then in January of 2009, he had the opportunity to work toward achieving that goal.
Since it's opening day, Rob0rob's has been dedicated to it's customers and to providing the top of the line service to both
its business clients as well as its individual clients.

As our slogan states, Roborob's Computer Repair is dedicated to:
Technological Business with Home-town Values

5. I think 'online chat' and your contact form need to be more prominent - ie featured on the first page. You're making your customers hunt for ways to connect with you. This will negatively affect conversions.

6. Im at a bit of a loss to understand the purpose of the Calendar? - how does this improve your websites potential for customers to make contact with you with an intent to purchase your services?

Will respond within 24 hours seems like an awful long time to get back to someone asking a question. Our shop will try its best to get back to someone asking a question within an hour or two.

I have to agree on the logo. At first glance, I was not quite sure what the robot was holding in its "hand". I definitely did a double-take.

First off I would like to say you are doing the right thing by asking and then LISTENING to the advice given. Take what they are saying and then imagine you on this end. Look at your own site as though you were the customer.

When I get my site going I have to have someone check my spelling so don't worry you are on the right track by getting help.

May take 1-3 weeks to complete depending on date of arrival of parts.
WHAT your going to ask me too wait that long...I have a cousin that can do it in a couple of days "LEAVING SITE"

Man I can install almost any piece of hardware in an hour. I like to keep computers overnight if I can but that is the longest time for hardware. If you are talking time to order it then it should take up to a week but I would not mention any time frame in your site. Talk to them about this when you have the sale.

Hardware is bought through a store or an online source
OK I am going to buy it online then its cheaper. NO NO NO NO

You are trying to make money for YOU so that YOU can buy more of YOUR unlimited wants. Your business is trying to MAXIMIZE profit by saving money and earning income. Sending customers to buy online is not good and that's what this is going to do. Maybe word it differently. Something like "Hardware purchased through our store is only of the highest standards". This makes your hardware seem better then well the place you probably bought it through. Get them to wont your products/services not your competitions.

These are just a few problems I see keep up the good work and remember.

Good better best
never let it rest
tell the good gets better
and the better gets best.
a little improvement each day
will help the good get better
and the better get best.

Good job on the URL

network design and install... for 80 plus parts??? You are going to be burned big time for this.

It seems like you are shooting yourself in the foot quite a bit on your site.
