New to SEO

I was looking at Keyword planner and in order to use it I need a Google Adword account
I started to do this but I didn’t want to give them my credit card info
Must I do this to use the new Keyword Planner?

I don't think so there's any need to disclose your credit card info with anyone. The guy living next to me, uses Keyword Planner of Google. He says that he didn't share any personal information while using keyword planner tool. You can use Google Keyword Planner by using your Gmail account with ease. It only asks to log in with a Gmail account. It's simple.

Thanks. :)

I have been playing around with SEO and i found works for me is to use the keyword planner to get keywords but dont go for broad works or the one with the most hits. Reason is because everyone does this and it is very competitive. Instead focus on some of the smaller keywords and you will rank page 1 for these as less competition. Then as lisa mentioned blog as much as you can, put key words into anchor text on your pages dont put to many on the one page. Try to have good links that keep customer on your site and not have pages that dont have good navigation.

I just want to research some keywords

credit card information is not compulsory to make the adword account. you can search the keywords without giving credit card information.

If you're not aware, you can also prepay on an adword account. That's how I do it as I don't like unknown bills.

SEO is one of the best online promoting method. In this, we used the techniques and submit data on social websites. Always prefer the fresh and unique data for submissions. If you have any query.. please read SEO on Google.

Key to this working? Keep on blogging, any topic is ok, then tag those "computer repair Rochester MN" in those blogs. (insert your tags of course)

Then, start your blogs with "As you know, our computer repair store in Rochester, MN tells all of our clients that backing up your data is critical, even for your home computer"

Or, "when clients come in our computer repair store in Rochester MN with a virus removal, we often tell them that our antivirus protection plan is better because...."

then be sure to give that the H1, it's an option in Wordpress.

Blog the crap out of everything! lol If you can whip out a blog everyday, you will get faster results.

Google sometimes can give a page 1 on the spot (one of my clients asked me to help her, "waxing eagan mn" and she got on page 1 instantly, no competition. Sometimes takes consistency and a few weeks. I was paid to do this for clients, and I got them on page 2, then told them to keep going, but I don't think they did.

Good marketing results takes consistency, no matter what venue, including Google.
I have read a lot about blogs and SEO. I write like crap. Have ideas what to write about just sound terrible on paper. Any advice?

Mike, you can try talking out stories, and use a recording system like Natural speaking Dragon, I think that's the name. I have it but don't use it so much anymore, but it worked well. Stories are blogs for me usually (unless I do the SEO blogs and they are just content). Stories have a lot of value, but you have to really do more...like add to newsletters, social media, etc. Blogs need to be pushed out for good marketing I have found out.

Cool, thanks for the tip. I used Dragon over 20 years ago. You used to have to talk like a robot for it to dictate. I'm sure it is awesome today. Great advice. I always have the thoughts just suck at putting it on paper.

I setup a couple of Dragons for some offices, excellent stuff. I also set up the medical version very impressive with all the medical terminology.

One thing I have been discussing with a couple of people is do the websites really bring in business? I argue that it will. They argue it won't. That you have to hit the pavement. I agree with that some what. I think you can do so much more online in a lot less time. I think once you get some clients then word of mouth starts to kick in. Which I think is the best form of advertising. In my situation, I don't know anybody. By the time I start getting out socially, meeting people, get a client, I can tackle much more ground online. The reason the conversation came up was I want to get my site up and functional before potential clients might go there to see more of my services. The way I look at it is that in a month I've met you fine people online, you have helped me more than the people I haven't met yet because I'm really busy. I think that the thought of " you have to get in front of someone" to make a sale is kind of old school. I think to keep a client is where the face time is important. But what is the fastest way to get to the point where you can get face time?

Think in this day and age you should have a online presence by having a website. If its done correctly and built for SEO key words in your content then it definately will bring in business. I created a website for a client of mine as their old one was from about 1990 lol and it was just a html page with their address on it. I have since created a website for them and optimised it for their keywords and they got a big sale because the customer found them via their website so its already paid for itself they said.

Another area im going to look into soon is the lovely world of You Tube. If you really want to take it up a level i hear doing some videos on a regular basis and optimising it for your target audience/keywords and link it back to your site can really bring in some good traffic.

I agree. YouTube is the second largest search engine and owned by the largest search engine. Makes sense that using both would definitely boost SEO.

I agree that websites do bring business. This is just my point of view but when someone hands me their business card with their email and website on it. One of the first things I do is check out their website. That can give me some information about their company, services and other things they offer. Another thing I go looking for is reviews or testimonials.
